5 Rhythms Dance offers an exploration of movement and of oneself through movement. It was created by Gabrielle Roth, in the USA. She discovered that all movement follows a wave of energy that can be divided in 5 universes of movement: Flow, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. Each of those Rhythms has specific qualities and delivers specific teachings, and together they create a means to explore our dance, our self, our relationship to others, to our feelings, to our environment, etc. 5 Rhythms is not therapy but the practice of 5 Rhythms is therapeutic and makes us feel alive and vibrant.
The beauty of 5 Rhythms Dance is that it can include everyone : young or old, outgoing or shy, seen at the gym every week or known to be a couch potato, professional dancer or dance dreamer, everyone can dance 5 Rhythms.
Lucie Nerot is Anglo-French and was born dancing across borders. She has been dancing the 5 Rhythms for more than10 years and has trained with Gabrielle Roth, the founder of this work. In her quest for healing, she has also explored emotional therapy, movement and breathes work, the symbolic world of the Tarot deck, energy and awareness work. She has a passion for the dance, for art, for people, for life and its wonders, and has let 5 Rhythms guide her around the world: for three years, she has offered teenagers in one of the poorest villages in Cambodia a month long workshop, has taught workshops for Thai psychologists and teachers, Thai children in the northern suburbs of Bangkok, Thai teenagers of the Moo Ban Deck school, deaf kids in Kampot and children from the FLOW orphanage in Cambodia. She also offers workshops in France and in the United States.
